2-3 Principal

Welcome to Hellgate Lower Elementary School!

Mr. Brent Heist was hired to be the Hellgate Lower Grades Building #1 Principal starting July 1, 2025. He is starting his 25th year in education in Montana and 20th at Hellgate Elementary. Mr. Heist has held several positions in the district including Vice-Principal building #3, Director of Special Services, and classroom teacher. Brent attended Target Range elementary and Big Sky High School (1990) He loves to bike, hike, paddle, ski, and walk his dog - all with his wife Darla. They have four adult children (three grandchildren) who all graduated from Hellgate Elementary.
